AS-Schneider Gauge Valves are designed for mounting to Pressure Gauges, Pressure Transmitters and Pressure Switches and are manufactured and tested according to DIN 16271. The AS-Schneider S004.17.220 is also DVGW-approved. Gauge Valves with a test flange (see below) are not covered by DIN 16271. According to DIN 16271, the valves are suitable for a maximum allowable working pressure (PS) of 250 bar (3,626 psi) for brass versions and 400 bar (5,801 psi) for carbon steel and stainless steel versions. The maximum allowable temperature (TS) is 120°C (248°F) for liquids, gases and vapours.
The maximum allowable temperature (TS) of 120°C (248°F) takes into account the requirement that valves and measuring instruments must be protected against heating by hot process media. This can be achieved by using siphons or instrument impulse lines of sufficient length. However, AS-Schneider valves can be used at temperatures up to 300°C (572°F), depending on the sealing material: PTFE up to 232°C (450°F) and graphite up to 300°C (572°F).
