Description ST-P-DA
The optical smoke detector gives timely warning of the outbreak of fire, especially in fires with large particles, i. H. in smoldering fires. The measurement chamber contains a transmitter and a receiver. Usually, the pulsed light beam from the transmitter does not fall on the receiver. When smoke particles enter the chamber, they reflect the light beam onto the receiver and an alarm is triggered. The alarm is indicated by a red LED on the smoke detector and the alarm status remains until it is manually reset on the control unit. In the operating position, the transmitter pulses every eight seconds to maintain a low measurement current.
The smoke detector is designed to be largely insensitive to air velocities, contamination and high-frequency interference. The smoke detector model is inserted into the base with a bayonet fastener for easy installation. If the smoke detector is contaminated, it gradually changes to an alarm mode. To prevent unnecessary alarms, the smoke detector has a pre-alarm or service alarm (green LED), indicating that the smoke detector module needs cleaning.
